Especially in the Barnstorfer Weg, various small but nice shops are located. We start with a great artist gallery. In the Artquarium, in total 14 artists, designers and craftsmen from the Hanseatic city offer their lovingly crafted works. The exhibitions vary in regular intervals and offer for example graffiti, photographs, jewellery, wood or textile designs. It is significant to hold that every piece of art is made in Rostock.

If you are looking for great leather bags in different variations, you have to visit Gusti Leder.  Next to high quality, the small firm emphasizes on production transparency. The products are manufactured in India. In the production process itself, the company aims at supporting sustainability, ecology, animal welfare and human rights. Since Gusti purchases leather directly from the producers in India and implements most of the steps within the supply chain itself, the high-quality bags are offered at a fair price.

Moreover, the bags are a 100% recycled product due to the fact that they are made from waste of the meat industry. In addition, the company is committed to combating child labour in India. Each partner producer has to sign a contract in which it is declared not to employ children. At the same time, the company launched an online donation project to support local children so they can go to school, instead of work. All in all – a very supportive company, as we think!

After all the shopping you have to go to the city harbour! Here you can take a deep breath and relax. Very chilly are, for example, barbecue sessions at the port, which are highly recommended. Especially in summer Rostock meets at the water, one has a relaxed time together, can observe the ships or maybe even become active oneself and discover Rostock e.g. from the SUP!

9. Dein Musikwohnzimmer

What’s special is that small artists are given the opportunity to show off their skills on stage.
